Opened wide the gates of life
Now all may enter in
Raised victorious from the grave
He broke the curse of sin
By His blood in His love
On the cross lifted up
Ending death for all time
He opened wide the gates of life
Dying on the cross
He knew the hope
That He would bring
Shedding His blood
He knew the song
That we would sing
Lying in the grave
He knew the morning light
Would come
And that rising to the skies
He would see His Father’s eyes
As He
Somewhere in His heart
He knew the pain
That we would face
Somewhere deep within
He knew that
We would need His grace
Through His suff’ring there
He knew the joy
That He would bring
And that rising to the skies
We would see our Father’s eyes
As He
Never had a man walked through
The door of death before
Who would snatch the keys
And set us free for evermore
