Lyrics
SHOUT FOR JOY AND SING your praises to the King,
Lift your voice and let your hallelujahs ring;
Come before His throne to worship and adore,
Enter joyfully now the presence of the Lord.
You are my Creator, You are my Deliverer,
You are my Redeemer, You are Lord,
And You are my Healer.
You are my Provider,
You are now my Shepherd and my Guide,
Jesus, Lord and King, I worship You.
David Fellingham
Song Meaning
“Shout for Joy and Sing” invites a congregation to enter worship with audible praise. It then names reasons for that joy: God is Creator, Deliverer, Redeemer, Healer, Provider, Shepherd, and Guide.
Biblical Message
Psalm 100 calls people to worship the Lord with gladness and come before him with joyful songs. Psalm 150 likewise calls for praise. These passages connect with the song’s invitation to sing; they are not presented as its direct lyrical source.
Worship Use
The call to sing together makes this a natural opening praise song or a song of thanksgiving.
